Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network, known as Amotekun, have rescued two Fulani boys who were kidnapped while grazing cattle in the state.
The incident occurred in a rural community where the boys were reportedly abducted by armed men. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers struck suddenly, forcing the boys into the forest.
Amotekun operatives, acting on intelligence, launched a rescue mission. The operation led to a gun battle between the security outfit and the kidnappers. Despite heavy resistance, the boys were successfully freed and returned safely to their families.

Commander of Amotekun in Ondo State, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the rescue. He explained that the operatives acted swiftly after receiving reports of the abduction. “Our men engaged the kidnappers in a shootout. We were able to rescue the victims without losing any of our operatives,” Adeleye said.
The commander added that the kidnappers fled into the forest after the confrontation, leaving behind weapons and other items. He assured residents that Amotekun will continue to intensify patrols in rural areas to prevent further attacks.
Community leaders praised the rescue effort, noting that insecurity has become a major concern for farmers and herders in the region. They urged the government to provide more support for local security outfits to protect vulnerable communities.
