Benue State – Four people were killed by suspected armed herders in a renewed attack on Abaushwa community in Nzorov Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, with several others sustaining injuries.
A local source said the attackers invaded the community at about midnight on Monday, attacking homes and killing residents in their sleep, in a pattern consistent with previous assaults on farming communities in the area.
The attack adds to a long running series of violent clashes between farming communities and suspected herders in Benue State, where recurring incidents have displaced residents and disrupted agricultural activity across multiple local government areas.
