The Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday, June 8, 2026, arraigned two individuals and a company before the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja over an alleged N560 million theft, in one of the commission’s latest enforcement actions in the commercial capital.

The defendants are Olivia Dike, Azeez Muniru Siyanbola, and their company, Eniafelamo Global Seven Nigeria Limited. They were docked before Justice R.O. Oshodi on a three-count charge of stealing. The EFCC alleged that the defendants dishonestly converted the total sum of N560 million belonging to Peachland West Africa Limited and Lyke Stephen Okpaji.

All three defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. Justice Oshodi heard their pleas, then adjourned the matter to July 10, 2026, for the hearing of the bail application and the commencement of trial. The EFCC said it would present evidence at the next hearing to support its case against the defendants.

EFCC Intensifies Lagos Enforcement

The arraignment is part of a broader enforcement push by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate, which has handled a series of financial crime cases in recent weeks. Meanwhile, the commission also moved to re-arraign National Assembly directors accused of an alleged N337 million fraud in a separate case, signalling that the commission is pressing ahead with multiple high-profile prosecutions simultaneously.

Furthermore, the EFCC’s Lagos office has been handling increasing caseloads across cybercrime, corporate fraud, and individual financial crime categories. The commission said it was committed to ensuring that Nigeria’s financial system was protected from the kind of large-scale theft that damages investor confidence and undermines legitimate business activity.

However, activist Harrison Gwamnishu continued to call attention to the alleged shooting of a Benue State teenager during an EFCC operation, demanding that the commission investigate the incident and hold any erring officers accountable. The EFCC had not issued a formal response to the specific allegation as of Monday evening. Notably, Lagos State Police separately assured residents that there was no credible threat of school attacks in the state, following panic sparked by the Oyo abduction, and said enhanced security had been deployed around schools across the metropolis. Consequently, security agencies across Nigeria were managing multiple public anxieties simultaneously on Monday.

Delta Gunrunners Busted in Multi-State Operation

In addition, the Delta State Police Command announced the arrest of four suspected gunrunners following coordinated operations in Bayelsa and Imo States, where operatives dismantled a criminal syndicate linked to the illegal trafficking of firearms in the Niger Delta. The commission said weapons recovered from the suspects had been submitted for forensic examination. As a result, law enforcement is tackling both financial and violent crime on multiple fronts across southern Nigeria.
