The National Association of Resident Doctors has declared an indefinite nationwide strike, effective 8am on Friday, in a move set to disrupt services at teaching hospitals and federal medical centres across the country.
The association disclosed the industrial action in a strike notice circulated to members, warning that resident doctors nationwide would withdraw services until their outstanding grievances are addressed by the Federal Government.
NARD has repeatedly clashed with the Federal Government in recent years over unresolved welfare demands, including delayed salary payments, poor working conditions and the implementation of previously agreed remuneration packages for resident doctors.
