Lagos State – Slum2School Green Academy, located in Epe, Lagos State, has been named among the Top 10 shortlists for the prestigious World’s Best School Prizes 2026, marking a significant recognition for the institution on the global stage.

The award recognises schools worldwide for outstanding contributions across categories including community collaboration, innovation, environmental action and support for healthy living, with Slum2School Green Academy noted for its work in underserved communities.

The school forms part of the broader Slum2School initiative, which has worked for years to expand access to quality education for children in disadvantaged communities across Lagos and beyond, combining classroom learning with practical life skills training.

Education stakeholders have welcomed the recognition, describing it as evidence that Nigerian grassroots education initiatives can compete favourably with global counterparts when given adequate support and resources.

The World’s Best School Prizes shortlisting is expected to raise the profile of the academy and potentially attract further partnerships and funding support for its continued work in expanding educational access.

A final decision on the prize winners is expected in the coming months, with organisers set to evaluate shortlisted institutions across all award categories before announcing the results.
