The Ogun State Police Command arrested two suspects wanted in connection with an ongoing kidnapping and murder case in the Okada area of Edo State on Sunday, June 7, 2026, following intelligence-driven operations by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Ijebu-Ode.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued in Abeokuta. He identified the suspects as Gafaru Adamu, 25, and Muhammed Sanni, 20. According to Babaseyi, the breakthrough followed the June 4 apprehension of the suspects by operatives of the Nigeria Forest Security Service, after which extensive profiling and investigation linked them to the Edo State case.
‘Following extensive profiling and investigation, the suspects were identified as being wanted in connection with an ongoing kidnapping and murder case reported in the Okada area of Edo State,’ Babaseyi stated, adding that the suspects would be transferred to Edo State for further investigation and prosecution.

Meanwhile, a self-confessed kidnapper in Plateau State separately revealed details about his network’s operations in the Mangu area during interrogation, providing fresh intelligence to security agencies. Notably, the suspect admitted that his group targeted rural communities where security presence was thin. Consequently, the case adds to a growing body of confessional evidence that is helping security agencies map the geography of criminal activity across the country.

In a separate crime incident, a man identified as Onipede Dare in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, was reported to have stabbed his wife to death over alleged infidelity over the weekend, according to Nigeriacrime.com.
