Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets under Operation Hadin Kai destroyed critical Boko Haram enclaves in Borno State’s Mandara Mountains today, dealing a devastating blow to terrorist operations in Northeast Nigeria.

Using verified intelligence, NAF precision strikes hit multiple terrorist camps in the strategic border region between Nigeria and Cameroon. The Mandara Mountains’ rugged terrain has sheltered Boko Haram militants for years, but today’s operation successfully neutralized key fighters and demolished their fortified bases.

“Operation Hadin Kai aircraft executed a flawless mission,” confirmed military sources. “We eliminated high-value targets and completely destroyed terrorist infrastructure.”

This latest offensive underscores Nigeria’s intensified efforts to dismantle insurgent networks in the Northeast.

It was reported that the clearance operation came less than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu directed the military to clear all the enemies threatening the country.

Spokesman of the Nigerian Air Force, Ehimen Ejodame, told journalists in Abuja that the troops’ surveillance and reconnaissance missions gave signs that the insurgents were in preparation for a coordinated attacks.

Ejodame, an Air Commodore, explained that clusters of structures fitted with solar panels, black flags and fortified compounds was a clear sign of insurgent resurgence in the location before they were bombed.

According to him, the high-profile targets, Wa Jahode and Loghpere, have long served as fortified enclaves for the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS), a faction of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating there.

He said apart from the fact that the precision airstrikes destroyed the logistics of the terrorists, scores of them including their commanders were neutralised in the operation.

“In a major blow to insurgent networks in Nigeria’s North-East, the Nigerian Air Force, under Operation HADIN KAI, launched precision air strikes on 6 July 2025 against key terrorist strongholds nestled in the Mandara Mountains, located in Borno State.

“The high-profile targets, Wa Jahode and Loghpere, have long served as fortified enclaves for the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram.

“The strikes followed confirmatory intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions revealing clusters of structures fitted with solar panels, black flags and fortified compounds, clear signs of insurgent resurgence and preparations for coordinated attacks.

“In response, NAF strike aircraft executed a series of well-coordinated air interdictions, targeting and destroying high-value terrorist infrastructure including logistics warehouses, command centres, and defensive shelters.
