Police in Ogun State have arrested a suspected cultist and recovered two locally made pistols during an operation aimed at tackling violent crime in the region.
The suspect, whose identity is being withheld pending investigation, was apprehended following a targeted raid by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command. Authorities confirmed that the arrest was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle cult groups responsible for insecurity in the state.
According to police sources, the operation was carried out after intelligence reports linked the suspect to cult-related activities in the area. The recovered firearms are believed to have been used to intimidate residents and carry out criminal acts.
