Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has dismissed claims of a rift with his predecessor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, insisting that he has never spoken negatively about the former governor.

Speaking during a public engagement, Sani emphasized that his relationship with El-Rufai remains cordial and rooted in mutual respect. He described El-Rufai as a leader whose contributions to Kaduna’s development cannot be overlooked, noting that continuity in governance requires building on the foundation laid by past administrations.

“I have never spoken ill of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai,” Sani stated firmly, adding that any reports suggesting otherwise were misrepresentations aimed at creating division. He stressed that his focus is on consolidating achievements and addressing challenges facing the state, rather than engaging in political distractions.

The governor highlighted ongoing projects in infrastructure, education, and healthcare as evidence of his administration’s commitment to sustaining progress. He explained that Kaduna’s development agenda is a collective effort, requiring unity among leaders and citizens alike.

Observers note that Sani’s remarks come amid speculation of tension between the two political figures. However, his public clarification appears intended to reassure supporters and stakeholders that his administration values collaboration and continuity.

Political analysts suggest that maintaining harmony with El-Rufai, who remains influential in Kaduna politics, is crucial for Sani as he navigates governance and reforms. By openly affirming respect for his predecessor, the governor signals a desire to avoid unnecessary conflict and focus on delivering results.
