ABUJA — Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has congratulated former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi on his 61st birthday. Atiku’s birthday message arrived on the same day that Amaechi publicly rejected the results of the ADC presidential primary. The timing of the gesture has sparked significant political commentary.

Amaechi was a key figure in the coalition of governors that switched to the APC in 2015, helping Tinubu and Buhari defeat Jonathan.
