Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has threatened legal action against British heavyweight Dillian White following comments made about the proposed Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury fight.

The dispute stems from remarks White allegedly made regarding the negotiations and financial arrangements surrounding the highly anticipated bout. Hearn, who manages Joshua under Matchroom Boxing, described White’s comments as damaging and misleading.

Speaking to reporters, Hearn insisted that the Joshua–Fury fight remains one of the biggest events in boxing history and should not be undermined by unfounded claims. “We will not allow false statements to affect the credibility of this fight. Legal options are being considered,” Hearn said.

The Joshua–Fury clash has been in the works for several months, with fans eagerly awaiting confirmation of dates and venues. Negotiations have involved multiple stakeholders, including promoters, broadcasters, and governing bodies.

White, who has previously fought Joshua and remains a contender in the heavyweight division, has been outspoken about the fight. His criticism reportedly questioned the transparency of the deal, sparking Hearn’s response.

Analysts say the dispute highlights the intense rivalries and business complexities in modern boxing. With multiple fighters, promoters, and networks involved, negotiations often face delays and disagreements.

Joshua, a former unified heavyweight champion, is seeking to reclaim his dominance after recent setbacks. Fury, the reigning WBC champion, has maintained his unbeaten record and is widely regarded as one of the sport’s top fighters.

Fans have expressed frustration over the delays in finalizing the fight, noting that disputes between promoters and fighters often slow progress. Many believe the Joshua–Fury bout is critical for the future of heavyweight boxing, as it could unify titles and settle long-standing debates about supremacy in the division.

Legal experts suggest that if Hearn proceeds with a lawsuit, it could further complicate the negotiations. However, they note that such action may be aimed more at protecting reputations than halting the fight itself.

White has not yet issued a formal response to Hearn’s threat, but observers expect the matter to continue drawing attention in the coming weeks.

For now, the focus remains on whether Joshua and Fury will finally meet in the ring, and whether disputes outside the ropes will derail one of the most anticipated fights in recent boxing history.
