The Sting Operation
In a major crackdown, Ondo State Police Command has dismantled an international human trafficking network operating in Akure. Commissioner Adebowale Lawal revealed officers raided a residence along Oda Road on July 31 following intelligence about suspicious activities.

The Victims and Perpetrators
Authorities rescued:
• Nzaou Yelica Christ-Olse – 29-year-old Congolese national lured with fake online business offer

Arrested suspects (all illegal immigrants from Benin Republic):

  1. Atouh Joel (37)

  2. Mohamed Atta Amidou (35)

  3. Saibou Akateliwe (33)

  4. Abdul Jahao (26)

  5. Ndah Severin (27)

  6. Kumpori Ruth (19)

  7. Kumpori Martin (31)

  8. Tatiana Madous Dianne (32)

  9. Martias Sossa (22)

  10. Ndapola Oba Giove (30)

Modus Operandi
The syndicate:
→ Entered Nigeria illegally through Benin Republic
→ Used expired/fake travel documents
→ Abandoned victim after smuggling him in
→ Operated from residential hideout

Official Response
CP Lawal confirmed:

  • Case transferred to NIS and NAPTIP

  • Victim receiving government support

  • Strict warning to trafficking rings
