Adebanjo Oluolamide, a graduate of Aerospace Engineering from Lagos State University (LASU), has emerged as one of the institution’s brightest stars after finishing with an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.97.

The achievement was announced during LASU’s recent convocation ceremony, where Oluolamide was celebrated for his exceptional academic performance. His record places him among the top graduates in the university’s history.

Speaking at the event, LASU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, described Oluolamide’s feat as a testament to discipline, resilience, and the university’s commitment to academic excellence. She noted that his success reflects the quality of training provided by LASU in science and technology fields.

Oluolamide’s journey through Aerospace Engineering was marked by dedication and consistency. Colleagues and lecturers recalled his strong work ethic and passion for innovation. “He was always focused, determined, and willing to go the extra mile,” one lecturer said.

The graduate himself attributed his success to perseverance, faith, and support from his family. He explained that balancing demanding coursework with personal challenges required discipline and sacrifice. “It was not easy, but I kept reminding myself of the goal,” Oluolamide said.

His achievement comes at a time when Nigeria is seeking to expand its presence in science, technology, and engineering. Aerospace Engineering, in particular, is seen as a critical field for national development, with applications in aviation, defence, and space exploration.

Analysts say Oluolamide’s success story highlights the potential of Nigerian universities to produce world-class graduates capable of contributing to global innovation. They argue that with proper investment in research and infrastructure, more students can achieve similar excellence.

Parents and students at the convocation expressed admiration for Oluolamide’s performance, describing it as an inspiration for young Nigerians. Many noted that his story proves that hard work and determination can overcome challenges in the education system.

The LASU management pledged to continue supporting academic excellence by providing modern facilities and encouraging research. They also urged graduates to apply their knowledge to solving real-world problems in Nigeria and beyond.

For Oluolamide, the next step is to pursue advanced studies and contribute to the growth of aerospace technology. He expressed hope that his achievement would inspire others to aim higher and believe in their abilities.
