In a decisive strike against narcotics trafficking, a Federal High Court in Benin has handed down a cumulative 93-year prison sentence to seven convicted drug dealers, including 35-year-old physically challenged trafficker Rita Idehen. NDLEA’s Stern Warning
Edo State NDLEA Commander Mitchell Ofoyeju hailed the judgments as a crucial deterrent, revealing:
• 15 cases charged to court in July alone
• 113 pending drug-related cases in state courts
• Stern punishment remains key anti-drug strategy
“This should send a clear message to drug cartels – Edo is no safe haven for narcotics trafficking,” Ofoyeju declared, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to prosecuting all pending cases.
