The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has struck a landmark deal with MAG International Links Ltd to develop City Walk Abuja, a sprawling 200-hectare mixed-use district mirroring Dubai’s famed urban lifestyle hub.
A New Era for Abuja’s Landscape
Sealed at a signing ceremony in Abuja, the project—spearheaded by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike—aims to fuse luxury living, commerce, and leisure in a single, walkable space. The site, located along Airport Road, replaces the long-dormant Abuja Technology Village, which sat undeveloped for over 20 years.

Strict Timelines & Zero Tolerance for Delays
Wike revealed that approved designs and a Certificate of Occupancy are already in place, but with a stern warning: “Deviate from the plan, lose the land.” The move targets Nigeria’s notorious land speculation problem, where investors hoard prime plots without development.
Phased Rollout Ahead of 2026 Deadline
Groundbreaking is set for mid-2025, with Phase 1 slated for completion by May 2026—timed to mark President Tinubu’s third year in office. The FCTA pledges new access roads and full regulatory support to fast-track construction.
Local Flair Meets Global Design
Dr. Kassim Gidado of MAG International confirmed the project will “Nigerianize” Dubai’s blueprint, blending global aesthetics with indigenous culture. When complete, City Walk Abuja is expected to revolutionize the Lugbe area, setting a new standard for urban living in Nigeria’s capital.
