The full list of outstanding graduating students from the Nigerian Law School’s 2026 session has emerged, recognising top performing candidates across the institution’s various campuses nationwide.

The list highlights candidates who distinguished themselves academically during the bar training course, a mandatory requirement for law graduates seeking to be called to the Nigerian Bar and practise law in the country.

Among the honourees is Israel Adeniyi, who emerged as the best graduating student for the 2026 session, a recognition that has drawn attention within Nigeria’s legal education community as a marker of academic excellence under an increasingly competitive bar training curriculum.

The Nigerian Law School continues to serve as the final stage of legal education for law graduates before their call to the bar, with the institution running campuses across several states to accommodate the country’s growing number of law graduates each year.

Legal education stakeholders have separately called for greater exposure to practical courtroom advocacy within the bar training curriculum, arguing that aspiring lawyers need stronger hands on preparation to meet the demands of professional legal practice.

The release of the outstanding students list is expected to be followed by a formal call to bar ceremony, during which the recognised graduates and their peers will be officially admitted to practise law in Nigeria.
