Manchester, England — Manchester City’s recent agreement to sign teenage midfielder Farès Bouaddi has cast uncertainty over the club’s pursuit of Enzo, another highly rated young talent previously linked with the Premier League champions.
Reports had suggested that City were keen on securing Enzo as part of their long-term squad development strategy. However, the acquisition of Bouaddi, who is expected to join the club’s youth setup, has raised questions about whether City will continue to push for Enzo’s signature.
Club sources indicate that while City remain interested in strengthening their midfield options, the immediate focus is on integrating Bouaddi into their system. The French youngster is seen as a promising prospect who fits the club’s model of investing in youth players with potential to grow into first-team regulars.

Football analysts say the situation reflects City’s broader transfer approach, which often involves scouting multiple young players before finalising deals. “City’s recruitment strategy is about building depth and future options. Signing Bouaddi doesn’t necessarily rule out Enzo, but it may change the urgency of that pursuit,” one analyst explained.
Enzo, who has impressed in recent performances, continues to attract interest from several European clubs. His technical ability and versatility have made him a sought-after prospect, though his future remains uncertain as City weigh their options.
Head coach Pep Guardiola has not commented directly on the matter, but his emphasis on squad balance and youth development suggests that the club will carefully assess whether adding Enzo is necessary after securing Bouaddi.

Observers note that City’s transfer decisions are often influenced by long-term planning rather than immediate needs. With a strong senior squad already in place, the club’s focus on youth signings is aimed at sustaining success in both domestic and European competitions.
For Enzo, the speculation highlights the competitive nature of the transfer market, where young talents are closely monitored by top clubs. Whether Manchester City will make a formal move remains to be seen, but the Bouaddi deal has undoubtedly shifted attention.
As the transfer window progresses, fans and analysts will be watching closely to see if City continue their pursuit of Enzo or decide to rely on their latest signing to bolster future midfield options.
